Why is Leadership Important?
Leadership is key for anyone and everyone – whether you’re a corporate executive or a stay at home mom, an entrepreneur or an executive assistant. This is because your ability to lead is paramount to your ability to achieve your goals.
Great leadership is really nothing more than a great ability to influence others. By using your influence (or your leadership) you can do all kinds of things, like get your co-workers on board with a weekly bagel day or get your family members to all agree on a vacation spot.
It is important to focus on leadership because the better a leader you are, the better you are at influencing others. And the better you are at influencing others, the better able you are to achieve your goals and propel your career and business forward.
To begin, take a moment to think about all of the people you influenced today. Maybe you influenced your doctor to move your appointment time up an hour, or maybe you influenced your supervisor to give your team some extra padding in the budget. Think about what you said and did that made that interaction successful. What could you have done better? How will you change your approach next time? Who will you influence tomorrow?
